How to read the ratio
Divide the gold price per troy ounce by the silver price per troy ounce, using the same currency and reference time. A gold price of 2,400 and a silver price of 30 gives a ratio of 80 : 1: one troy ounce of gold has the same price as 80 troy ounces of silver.
